CUMBERLAND
Frank John Descoteaux, 79, passed on Saturday December 24, 2011
at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Martha (Brady)
Descoteaux, and they had been married for 46 years.
Born in Fort Devens,
MA, he was the son of the late Frank and Alberta (Bailey) Descoteaux. He resided
in Cumberland for many years.
He was a United States Army and Airforce
Veteran and retiree of 22 years, serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.
Frank was a member of the American Legion Post 132 and 14; VFW Post
1271, and the 40 and 8 Voiture 1166. He served as Post Commander of Post 132 and
also District 29 Commander.
He was employed as security for Disneyland
in Anaheim, CA for 16 years, and later was employed by Wackenhaut Security.
Besides his wife he leaves his daughter, Lynn Fitzgerald and her husband
Ray of Cumberland; one son John Descoteaux of Huntington Beach, CA; three
grandchildren, Danielle, Jake and Hope, all of Cumberland. He was the brother of
the late Jane Warren Lawrence.
A celebration of his life will be held
Wednesday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122,
Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill
Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will
be held Tuesday, 4-7 PM.
